Description

Luzon: Once in a while...CJ does her research. :iconmeowfaceplz:

CJ: Alrighty~..

Lambanog
Also known as Coconut Vodka. This freakin' strong alcoholic drink I have no idea how JC is not dead yet for drinking. Let's put it in perspective...shall we~?
Normal beer is 8-10% in alcohol by volume..
Vodka (the one that babu Russia likes) is 28%
Lambanog is freakin' 40-45%
:iconbigheplz:

Since we're talking 'bout alcohol. Let me share the story of the Ilocos' Basi (or sugarcane wine). Once upon a time, Spain decided to ban the private production of alcohol. The people of Ilocos revolted and it became known as the Basi or Ambaristo Revolution of 1807.

. . . .

Yeahh....we probably just love our booze that much. ^^;

Dried Mangoes
Ladida~...Do I have to explain? Cebu is the mango capital of the Philippines. It's just that awesome and sweet and export quality. Yep.

T'nalak
The T'boli tribe of South Cotabato are famous for these cloth. The weavers claim that the designs they make are given to them by the gods through a dream. And once they start weaving, they should not be disturbed or else...

The weaving process usually takes several weeks. Not including the treatment processes. Also, all the materials used for it come from nature, the abaca strands, the dyes...etc.

I watched a video about this months ago for art studies.=__=
Damn. I can't find a copy in the net but here:

Kamagong Knife Necklaces
Once upon a time, CJ had bought one in the shape of a cross after a vacation in Baguio. She wore it to school one day and then her classmates liked it and made arbor-arbor of it. To shut people up she killed them all with the knife hidden in it she just gave it to one of the people who kept begging for it. 'Cause it's just too awesome like that.

Visayan Textiles
Yep..getting lazy here na.

Ilo-ilo is said to be the Textile capital of the Philippines. I'll just link stuff here:

Bob Ong books
One of my favorite Filipino authors. His identity is a mystery. He doesn't go to book releases and such. Bob Ong is rumored to actually be a group of writers and some of them are teaching in UP. And I bet this 1 peso coin I have, one of my previous literature professor was one of them. GDI. I hate that professor though..

Anyways. .his (their?) books have this deeper meaning masked by nonsense jokes and weird plots. For example,the 'Alamat ng Gubat' (The legend of the forest) actually alludes to Philippine politics. Yeah...reread it dudes.

My favorite is 'Kapitan Sino' (Captain Who), because there's this weird super hero, and it's just so tragic...and...and...the love of his life died because he was too late...and...and...then a disease out break...and...

Wow..I remember wanting to make a comic out of it if only Visprint Inc wouldn't sue me.:XD:

*end*

CJ: This took me long enough..:iconeheheplz:

Luzon: Nooooooooo~...:iconbigheplz:

CJ: And I forgot to cite the image sources..^^;

anyways...the background images aren't mine. They were found in google and I was stupid enough to forget to copy the links.
